Defining Crepe Silk

Crepe Fabric is characterized as a crinkled, puckered or pebbly surface. The fabric is made with highly twisted yarns in weft, sometimes in the wrap, or sometimes in both. Crepe is usually made with a plain weave. The fabric is woven from all of the major fibres, natural or man-made.

Crepe Silk is a luxurious fabric with an elegant sheen or a pebbly texture obtained by using high twist yarns. The fabric gives an elegant, expensive, and posh look. Crepe Silk is extensively used to make dresses, slacks, skirts, lightweight suits, bridal gowns, and evening wear. There are different types of crape silk, each one made in a different manner, and each one giving out a different look.

At Oriental Costumes we have received our latest collection of Crepe Silk outfits. The outfits are unstitched and include materials for kameez (top), shalwar (bottoms), and dupatta (veil). These beautiful prints come in two types of Crepe Silk.

  1. Crepe Silk with shiny, silky, and pebbly texture
  2. Crepe Silk with smooth surface and without any texture

Each style has its own beauty and gives out a different type of elegance and sophistication.

Bride's Party Dresses

The most important outfit of a bride is of her wedding day. It is after that dress that any other outfit comes. But, every other outfit of the bride is also important and worth equal attention. The bride has many events and parties to shine at. She’s got all the dholkis to attend, Mayon to sit, Mehndi to dance, reception to glide, and many after wedding parties to attend to. At all these events she has to look flawless, beautiful, and unique.

At Oriental Costumes, we don’t just take care of the wedding outfit but all the other outfits as well. We carry a variety of unstitched, colourful, beautifully worked, creatively designed, and stunning outfits. We make sure the bride is all ready and prepared to shine through all the days before and after her wedding day; and of course on her wedding day.

We carry a range of colours all the way from blacks to whites, reds to oranges, pinks to purples, blues to greens, and all other colours, shades, and hues in between. Each outfit is a unique piece and is just as individual as the bride who is going to wear them. Combination of different colours and work give an identity to each outfit.

Although these outfits are perfect for the bride, they’re also perfect for the mother, sisters, aunties, cousins, and friends of the bride. The outfits are light enough for the bride to not look over done in parties but also heavy enough for her female family to wear to any of the wedding events. Each outfit will give the ladies a unique and elegant look. At Oriental Costumes we make sure you’re shining in every event of your life.

Grooming the Groom

Wedding Day is one of the biggest days in a girl’s life and she’s always the talk, the life, and the queen of the night. With the bride being the centre of attention, the groom is often overlooked and sometimes forgotten. Well if the bride is the queen for the day then the groom is the king for that day, right? That’s why at Oriental Costumes we make sure the groom feels just as special on his big day as the bride.

Our latest collection of Groom Sherwanis has arrived. Each Sherwani is paired with a matching qulla and khoosa style shoes.

Have a look at this White Sherwani with cream and red colour karahai on it. The karahai is simple yet intricate perfect for a groom wanting to wear something simple with a hint of glamour in it. The shoes and qulla add the simplicity further in the outfit.

This brown sherwani with brown and gold dabka work is a unique one. Dull gold dabka worked buttons compliments this bold earth tone brown. The buttons at the front, the dabka work on sleeves and neckline, the banarasi qulla, and the matching shoes all contributes into making this outfit a unique one.

This is more of a modern sherwani. The colours and the work are a different combination. This sherwani is masculine with a hint of Mughal style in it. The combination of black and green with deep red and rust gold work makes this outfit edgy and one of a kind. To bring out the red in the sherwani further, it is pared with a red qulla and bright red shoes.

These were just a few of our sherwanis. Each one is unique in its own way and gives a different personality to the groom.

Sari Home Decor

Saree is South Asia’s one of many identities. To some women, saree is their identity. They wear saree as a symbol of being married and it becomes part of them. To many others, saree is a fashion statement or party outfit. We all know how to adorne ourselves with these pretty garments but what to do when these beautiful sarees have been worn enough times and you don’t desire them to be worn anymore?

Well here are some interesting suggestions you can use to make your home décor interesting and colourful with a touch of tradition and personal touch.

Curtains: Just add some holdings to it and you have beautiful curtains all made.

Cushions: Add accent to your room with by making some cushion covers out of saree.

Table Cover: Make an intricate table cover out of a saree and wow the company that dines on it.

Fabric Wall Art: It might hurt a little tearing up your beautiful saree, but we assure you it’s all for a good cause and will look equally beautiful on your wall.

Coasters: Lastly make some pretty coasters out of the saree. Anyone who sees them will definitely ask you where you bought the coasters from and how much they cost. You can amaze them by declaring you made them and that it’s a saree.

This outfit is on whole new level of gorgeousness. The mehndi green of this dress in contrast with bright orange is enchanting. While the mehndi green creates calmness, the orange creased dress under the green shirt brings out the brightness and intensity in the outfit.

Yet another blue tone long dress. But unlike the one above this one is fully worked with rhinestones with accents of velvet around the neckline, border, and sleeves. The threads of work coming down from the top elongate the dress.

Anyone who wears this lehnga will look ethereal. This beautiful piece has everything. The delicate thread work on soft net cloth is absolutely breathtaking. The pearl lace and pearl pompoms makes this lehnga absolutely mystic and dreamlike.

This is another beautiful lehnga that speaks for itself. The banarasi lehnga with simple and elegant gold worked long shirt compliments each other. The equally beautiful dupatta and sheer sleeves makes this lehnga a little bit on the sexy side.

We have saved the best for last. This gorgeous long gold dress has gotta lace on its border but the life and soul of this outfit lies in the stunning long red coat. The vibrant red of the coat is enhanced by the intricate, delicate, and spectacular gold beads, thread, and sequence. The tassel to tie the coat only adds elegance to the outfit.
